Seychelles

Seychelles is the incentive we design when the client wants the Indian Ocean at its most exclusive: Four Seasons Petite Anse, Cheval Blanc Anse Intendance, Hilton Northolme (adults 13+) and Savoy Beau Vallon on Mahé; Constance Lémuria and Raffles Anse Takamaka on Praslin; Six Senses Zil Pasyon, North Island, Fregate and Waldorf Astoria Platte for private-island scale. It is not a budget destination and we do not pretend otherwise. Banyan Tree Seychelles is closed — Cheval Blanc occupies that Anse Intendance site.

Inner islands (Mahé, Praslin, La Digue) work for 20–80 guests with boat days and a Vallée de Mai morning. Outer islands are buy-outs for 10–30.

We often pair Seychelles with Kenya or Tanzania as a two-country ‘bush and granite’ programme for European and Middle Eastern houses.

Why Seychelles

Why Seychelles for MICE

A visual that needs no caption

Anse Source d’Argent, jungle-granite ridgelines, villa privacy. Photography does the sell-in for you.

True private-island buy-outs

North Island, Fregate and Platte can become the company’s island for a week — the rare incentive that still feels like a secret.

Creole hospitality with five-star operations

Constance, Four Seasons and Six Senses understand group arrivals, dietary complexity and quiet luxury. That matters when the guest list is the board.

Services

What we run in Seychelles

Each service in Seychelles has its own planner brief — group size, venues, lead time and what we will not do.

Excursions

On the ground

Vallée de Mai, Praslin

Half day

UNESCO coco-de-mer forest. We go early, with a conservation-literate guide, before day-trippers.

MICE fit: The cultural-natural centrepiece of an inner-island programme.

La Digue by bike and beach

Full day

Ox-cart cliché optional; we prefer timed photography at Anse Source d’Argent and a private lunch.

MICE fit: Highly photogenic. Heat and walking on sand — flag it for mobility.

Island-hopping by catamaran or helicopter

Full day or transfer

Private yacht days between Mahé, Praslin and quieter coves. Helicopter for time-poor directors.

MICE fit: The ‘we chartered the ocean’ moment. Weather and swell plans are written into the ops manual.

Creole market and Mahé viewpoints

Half day

Victoria market, Mission Lodge, tea factory — used lightly, never as a shopping gauntlet.

MICE fit: Arrival-day stretch after SEZ immigration.

Outer-island reef and solitude

3–4 nights

Platte, Desroches, Alphonse, Fregate — fly beyond the inner islands. Fly-fishing, turtle nesting in season, no other hotels.

MICE fit: Ultra-high-end; small numbers; the opposite of a 200-person convention.

Weather & when to go

Seasons planners actually use

April–May and October–November are the sweet spots: good water, slightly softer rates. July–August and Christmas are peak.

Incentives: If you need a private island, start 12–18 months out. Inner-island Four Seasons/Six Senses can move faster for smaller groups.

Meetings: Four Seasons Mahé and Constance Ephelia can host modest meetings. This is not a 500-delegate convention destination — Mauritius or Nairobi is.

Seychelles seasons for MICE planners — months and operational notes
SeasonMonthsPlanner notes
South-east trade (drier)May – SeptemberLess humid, some windward beaches choppy, leeward sides excellent. Popular with European summer incentives.
North-west monsoon (calmer seas)October – AprilWarmer, more humid, generally calmer water. December–January is festive peak. January–March can bring heavier rain.

Flights & access

How groups arrive

SEZ

Seychelles International, Mahé

All international arrivals; domestic and IDC flights to Praslin and outer islands

PRI

Praslin

Short hop from Mahé for Vallée de Mai and Six Senses boat connections

United Kingdom & Europe

Air Seychelles, Qatar, Emirates, Ethiopian, Kenya Airways; seasonal European leisure metal

Doha and Dubai are the workhorse connections. We meet at SEZ with fast-track where available.

United States & Canada

Two-stop via Europe or the Gulf is standard

Seychelles is a finale, not a same-week add-on after a transatlantic + safari without rest.

Middle East

Emirates, Qatar, Etihad patterns; very natural for Gulf incentive houses

Among our strongest source markets for Seychelles buy-outs.

India & Asia

Emirates, Qatar, Air Seychelles partnerships, some Indian Ocean regional links

Mumbai–SEZ via DXB/DOH is a known incentive routing.

South Africa

Via Johannesburg connections on Emirates, Qatar, Ethiopian or Kenya Airways into SEZ

Seychelles is a finale, not a two-night tag after a full safari week without rest.

Latin America

Two-stop via Europe or the Gulf to SEZ

Private-island buy-outs need 12–18 months. Inner-island Four Seasons can move faster.

Mahé roads are winding — we use professional drivers and do not schedule tight back-to-backs. Praslin is a 15-minute flight or a ferry. Outer islands are IDC or private charter; luggage limits apply and we pre-brief them.

FAQ

Seychelles for planners

Seychelles or Mauritius for an incentive?

Seychelles for intimacy, granite scenery and private islands. Mauritius for golf, larger hotels, and more meeting space. We will say which matches the rooming list.

Can we take 60 people to North Island?

No. That is the wrong product. We would place 60 at Constance or Four Seasons and use a private-island day trip if the brief still wants that photograph.

When is the best time to take an incentive group to Seychelles?

April–May and October–November are the sweet spots: good water, slightly softer rates. July–August and Christmas are peak.
