MICE

A specialist MICE DMC across eight destinations — not a catalogue of countries.

Serengeti Experience DMC is a destination-management partner for meetings, incentive trips, conferences, corporate events and executive retreats. The operating portfolio is Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Zanzibar, Ethiopia, Seychelles and Mauritius. Zanzibar is briefed separately from Tanzania. We do not invent a ninth country because the map looks impressive.

MICE here means meetings, incentives, conferences and events — plus executive retreats — operated as destination files. Serengeti Experience DMC is the destination partner: programme design, contracted stays, internal air, guiding, entry guidance and a named operations desk. International long-haul usually remains with the agency or travel manager.

How the desk works: why this DMC. DMC versus agency: MICE FAQ.

Why SEDMC

A specialist MICE DMC, not a leisure operator.

Serengeti Experience DMC has operated as a specialist MICE DMC for East Africa and the Indian Ocean since 2006 (20 years). The headquarters desk is in Arusha. We write will-nots into the annex: no 200-delegate plenary in a six-tent camp, no unstructured downtown evenings, no briefing Ethiopia as a Serengeti substitute.

Four operational pathways

These are the four MICE pillars. Country briefs live on each service’s destination pages — this page does not replace them.

Meetings

For corporate event managers who need a working agenda that still functions as a meeting — city, lodge or island, at a scale the room can hold.

Destinations

Eight operating destinations

Each destination page answers why it works for MICE and how groups arrive. Ethiopia, Seychelles and Mauritius are not safari destinations. Zanzibar is not a Tanzania subsection.

How a brief usually sorts

Operations

What a DMC holds — and what it does not.

In scope: sequence design, contracted lodges or venues, internal air, vehicles, guides, visa and entry guidance, and a named operations desk. Out of scope: consumer hotel checkout, card-paid leisure nights, and acting as the client’s global TMC. Group movement is an annex of a MICE file, not a product silo. How programmes are designed.

On the ground

Permits, park rules, and what we will not invent.

Conservancy and national-park rules sit in the destination annex, including permit lead times for primates in Rwanda and Uganda. We will not invent a high-ropes park in the Serengeti or a community morning the lodge does not actually host.

Credibility

Judge the desk, not a case-study wall.

We do not publish a case-study corpus on this site. Read why this DMC, our story, and industries and use cases — then send a brief.

Planner questions

MICE DMC questions

What is a MICE DMC?
A MICE destination-management company designs and operates meetings, incentives, conferences, events and executive retreats on the ground. Serengeti Experience DMC is that partner for eight destinations — not a consumer tour operator and not the client’s global travel-management company. For DMC versus agency, see the MICE FAQ.
What does a DMC do for corporate events?
We hold the destination annex: programme sequence, contracted stays or venues, internal air, vehicles, guides, entry guidance and a named operations desk. The events product itself is briefed on the conferences hub. International long-haul usually stays with the agency or travel manager.
Why use a DMC for East Africa and the Indian Ocean?
The operating portfolio is eight named destinations, not a generic “Africa” brochure. Zanzibar is briefed separately from Tanzania. We will not invent a ninth country. A named desk in Arusha writes constraints into the annex — season, lodge scale, permits — before the list flies.
Which destinations can SEDMC manage?
Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Zanzibar, Ethiopia, Seychelles and Mauritius. Ethiopia, Seychelles and Mauritius are not safari destinations. Destination briefs sit on each destination page.
What MICE services does SEDMC provide?
Four operational pillars: meetings, incentive travel, conferences and corporate events, and executive retreats. Each has a hub and a destination brief. We do not sell team building or corporate travel as standalone products.
How does an East Africa MICE RFP work?
Send the objective, headcount, nationalities, dates and which destinations are in play. We return a same-week outline when the brief is complete. We do not publish website rates the lodge then contradicts. Use the RFP form.
