Tanzania safari and Zanzibar incentive

Day by day

An operable outline, not a locked rooming list. Air sectors, permits and stays are contracted against the brief. Dates and costs sit on the proposal — not on this page.

1. 

   Day 1

   Kilimanjaro · Arusha

   Arrive Kilimanjaro International. Private transfer to an Arusha lodge. Briefing. Early night. Coffee estate only for guests who landed before mid-afternoon.

   Accommodation

   Legendary LodgeLegendary Lodge or Arusha Coffee Lodge for smaller lists. Gran Meliá Arusha if the room count needs a hotel.

   Logistics

   JRO to Arusha 45–75 minutes. Meet-and-greet airside where contracted. Bags in vehicles before anyone is asked to smile for a welcome banner.

   Meals

   Dinner at the lodge. No gala.

   Planner note

   Do not drive Arusha–Seronera with a jet-lagged incentive list. Light aircraft in the morning.

2. 

   Day 2

   Fly Serengeti

   Scheduled or private hop to Seronera, Grumeti or a private strip. Conservancy or flagship lodge arrival. Afternoon game drive. Quiet dinner.

   Logistics

   Arusha Airport (ARK) or a private strip. Flight 1–1.5 hours depending on routing. Vehicle meeting the aircraft. No crater descent on this day.

   Meals

   Breakfast Arusha. Lunch at lodge or boxed on the strip. Dinner at lodge.

   Planner note

   &Beyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is closed for rebuild through 2027 — crater-rim nights, if substituted, use The Manor, Meliá Ngorongoro or Crater’s Edge.

3. 

   Day 3

   Serengeti game viewing

   Full plains day. Balloon as a VIP split if booked. Bush dinner only if it is not the awards night.

   Dawn vehicles. Balloon baskets as whole baskets. Migration sightings are a season and a location, not a guarantee on the invoice.

   All meals at lodge or in the field.

   Another game-viewing chapter. Awards or celebration dinner on a night with no aircraft. Indoor backup if the mess tent is wind-held.

   Logistics

   No hop. Packing after the afternoon drive. Speeches timed, not open-ended.

   Meals

   All meals at lodge. Gala-style dinner tonight.

   Planner note

   Lists over one camp split the dinner by lodge, or buy a second night at Four Seasons for the combined table.

   Day 5

   Fly Zanzibar

   Light aircraft to ZNZ. Quiet seafood dinner — not a gala on the same day as an airstrip.

   The Residence ZanzibarPark Hyatt Stone Town for a heritage night, or The Residence / Zuri if the list goes straight to the beach.

   Logistics

   Serengeti strip to ZNZ, sometimes via ARK. Build a buffer for weather. Resort transfer 45–90 minutes from ZNZ depending on the coast.

   Meals

   Breakfast safari lodge. Light lunch. Seafood dinner at the house.

   Planner note

   Three beach nights is the professional minimum after safari — this night is the first of them.

   Activities

6. 

   Day 6

   Zanzibar spice, reef or Stone Town

   Spice morning or a reef boat. Dhow sunset. Spa grid for anyone who has had enough of vehicles.

   Spice farms inland — early start, modest dress. Mnemba or house reef depending on wind and the marine-park slot. Dhow sunset on the leeward side.

   Meals

   Breakfast and dinner at the resort. Lunch in the field or at the house.

   Do not stack Stone Town, spice and a sunset dhow on the same heat-struck afternoon.

7. 

   Day 7

   Zanzibar close and depart

   A still morning. Depart ZNZ. International metal with a buffer. Some lists fly ZNZ–DAR or ZNZ–NBO for the long-haul.

   Accommodation

   Logistics

   Resort to ZNZ 45–90 minutes. Fast-track where contracted. US and Latin America lists often need an eighth night.

   Meals

   Breakfast. Lunch only if the flight is evening.

   Do not put a gala on this morning.

A fireside or lantern dinner on the plains, with a tented backup and an honest weather call. The awards night that belongs in camp — not on the night the group landed from Kilimanjaro.

Spice tour

A private spice farm — clove, cinnamon, vanilla, tasting — without the gauntlet of carved-spoon stalls. The scent is the product. The shop is optional and at the end, if at all.

Stone Town, spice and dhow sunset

The Swahili incentive day: a private spice farm, a short Stone Town walk, and a private dhow at the hour the light goes copper.

Mnemba atoll reef morning

The reef off the north-east — turtles, coral, and water that resets a safari group. Lodge buy-out on Mnemba Island for twelve; atoll access more broadly.

Sunset cruise

The money shot of a Zanzibar incentive: a private dhow or catamaran at the hour the light goes copper, with a safety skipper and a second boat if the group is large.
