Serengeti bush dinner

A fireside or lantern dinner on the plains, with a tented backup and an honest weather call. The awards night that belongs in camp — not on the night the group landed from Kilimanjaro.

How we run it

Bush dinners are the most requested Serengeti event and the easiest to do badly: 80 people in white on a public kopje, generators failing, a lion story that was a hyena. We contract the site with the camp, pad lighting and a dining tent, and keep the speeches short.

Four Seasons Serengeti, Meliá Serengeti and Serengeti Explorer can each host a lodge dinner at meeting-room scale (80–120 sitting together; 150 sharing in the rooms). A six-tent camp cannot hold a dealer plenary. We will say so before you print the menu.

What is included

• — No bush gala on landing night from JRO.
