Robanda, Ikoma Region, western Serengeti (near Fort Ikoma gate)

Overview

Marriott’s first Autograph Collection safari camp globally (opened September 2025) — the western Serengeti buy-out we brief for 8–16 EXCO lists when the brief wants Marriott Bonvoy alignment, butler service and all-inclusive private game drives without hotel-scale meeting rooms. Fifteen tented suites and one two-bedroom villa (16 units) suit a camp buy-out; the villa’s private pool, dining room and kitchen hold a closed leadership table. Retractable stargazing roofs and in-room telescopes are the memory — not a 253 m² Discovery Centre. Slide-heavy agendas still belong in Arusha or at Four Seasons Serengeti.

We brief Mapito Safari Camp, Serengeti, Autograph Collection as part of a meeting, incentive, conference or executive retreat — not as a consumer hotel checkout. Availability is on request from the Arusha desk, with Nairobi and Mauritius covering hub and island programmes.

Location

Mapito Safari Camp, Serengeti, Autograph Collection sits in Robanda, Ikoma Region, western Serengeti (near Fort Ikoma gate), Serengeti, Tanzania. There is often no street address in the bush — the pin is the property name, the airstrip, or the hotel road in town.

Accommodation details

Rooms and occupancy

15 tented suites and one two-bedroom villa (16 units total) — camp buy-out for leadership lists of 8–16; villa for a closed EXCO table with private pool and dining room

Occupancy limits

Occupancy follows the inventory above: sharing versus single is the usual swing on a MICE rooming list.

Bed configurations

Doubles, twins and singles as the property actually holds them — we collect the rooming list before we lock the block. We do not invent a suite mix the lodge has not confirmed.

Room sizes

Published square metres are a consumer-hotel spec. We brief the category — tent, suite, villa or room — and any ground-floor or interconnecting need in the annex.

This stay is briefed when the list needs a working room as well as beds. Meeting-room capacity is confirmed on proposal — bush lodges are typically 80–120, not a 400-person plenary.

What we actually brief for this stay. Paid extras, spa hours and meeting-room AV are confirmed in the proposal — not as a consumer extras menu.

Policies

Check-in and check-out

Lodge hours are confirmed when we contract the block. Safari arrivals usually follow the airstrip or game-drive clock, not a city 14:00 / 11:00. Early arrivals wait in a lounge or on a game drive — we write that into the day-by-day.

Cancellation

Cancellation follows the programme contract and the supplier behind this stay — not a one-line website percentage. Peak safari, gorilla lodges and island peak are the least flexible lines. Force majeure and airstrip clauses sit in the annex.

Children

Age minimums vary. Many safari camps set 6–12 years; some conservancies and gorilla lodges are stricter. We collect ages with the rooming list and will not hide a minimum that strands a family room.

Pets

Not for MICE rooming lists unless the property and the brief both say otherwise. Service animals are a named conversation, not a website toggle.

Payment

Payment is through Serengeti Experience DMC as part of the programme invoice: a confirmation deposit to hold the block, staged supplier payments, and a final payment before arrival. This is not a consumer booking engine and we do not take card payments on this page.

Other terms

Mapito Safari Camp, Serengeti, Autograph Collection is contracted subject to availability. Park fees, conservancy fees, gorilla permits and internal air are separate lines unless the proposal says they are included.

Planner notes

We do not publish star ratings or scraped guest reviews. Fit is scale, access and the operations annex — not a 4.8 average that we did not collect.

Can we hold a meeting at Mapito Safari Camp, Serengeti, Autograph Collection?

A closed working session can sit here if the rooming list fits. Slide-heavy plenary belongs in Tanzania city or beach inventory. When should we contract Mapito Safari Camp, Serengeti, Autograph Collection?

July–October for classic migration incentives; February–March for calving and photography; June and November for value without sacrificing wildlife. Kilimanjaro climbs follow the same dry windows — late June–October and January–early March — with extra nights for acclimatisation, not a shorter route. Flagship safari and gorilla inventory still wants 12–18 months. City board nights can often be placed in 6–9 months.

Do you publish a nightly rate for Mapito Safari Camp, Serengeti, Autograph Collection?

No. Availability and the commercial are on request through Serengeti Experience DMC as part of a meetings, incentive, conference or retreat programme. We will not invent a website price the lodge then contradicts.

Can we book Mapito Safari Camp, Serengeti, Autograph Collection without a MICE programme?

This page is for incentive houses, corporate travel buyers and event planners contracting through Serengeti Experience DMC. We confirm the block, the rooming list and the operations annex together.

Is Mapito suitable for a corporate retreat buy-out?

Yes, at leadership scale. Sixteen units — fifteen tented suites and a two-bedroom villa — suit an 8–16 EXCO buy-out with butler service, all-inclusive private game drives and Boma dining. The villa’s private pool and dining room hold a closed board. We will not sell it as a 200-person retreat or a three-day slide-heavy plenary without an honest wifi note.

Does Mapito have formal meeting rooms?

No named conference suite. The product is tented-suite intimacy and a villa table — not Four Seasons’ 253 m² Discovery Centre. Arusha city hotels or Four Seasons Serengeti carry slide-heavy agendas; Mapito carries the working-and-wildlife chapter.

What is included in a Mapito stay?

Marriott’s all-inclusive safari rate typically covers luxury tented accommodation, all meals and beverages, unlimited private game drives, butler service, return transfers from Fort Ikoma or Seronera Airstrip, laundry and Boma dining. National park and WMA fees, spa treatments, night drives, hot-air balloons and private bush dining are separate lines unless the proposal states otherwise.

When is the best season for a Mapito retreat?

Wildlife is strong year-round. The camp sits on the western Great Migration corridor — wildebeest and zebra herds typically pass May–July. Peak safari still wants 12–18 months’ lead time for a buy-out.

Do we need yellow fever certificates for Tanzania?

Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda and Zanzibar require a yellow fever vaccination certificate upon arrival. We collect it with passports on the rooming list — do not leave it to the airport queue.

Do guests need Zanzibar inbound travel insurance if the programme includes the island?

Zanzibar requires all non-resident foreign visitors to purchase mandatory inbound travel insurance issued exclusively by the Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC). Buy it online before travel at https://inbound.visitzanzibar.go.tz/
