Maasai Mara plains — contracted community visits on conservancy terms

Kenya · 2–3 hours

Maasai community visit

A contracted community visit on conservancy terms — interpretation, a fee we can explain in the proposal, no forced dancing for cameras. Optional. Never the only Mara morning.

How we run it

Cultural programmes in the Mara are well developed and easy to do as theatre. We use a conservancy or lodge community partner, brief photographers, and keep it optional. Guests who want a longer conservation conversation get that; guests who want a game drive keep the game drive.

This is not a human zoo and not a surprise on the way to the balloon. It sits in the diary as a chosen hour.

What is included

  • Contracted partner and a fee line the client can put in a CSR annex if they wish
  • Interpretation, not a souvenir gauntlet as the centre of the visit
  • Opt-out for guests who prefer a game drive or lodge time

What we will not do

  • Not mandatory. Not a substitute for wildlife time.
  • We will not stop at an uncontracted roadside boma for a photograph.

Planner questions

Who is Maasai community visit for?

16–60; contracted boma, not a roadside stop

When should we run Maasai community visit?

Year-round. Heat argues for morning or late afternoon, not noon on the equator. Lead time: 8–12 months to hold a conservancy community partner, not a pop-up. Duration on the ground: 2–3 hours.

How do we add Maasai community visit to a Kenya MICE programme?

A contracted community visit on conservancy terms — interpretation, a fee we can explain in the proposal, no forced dancing for cameras. Optional. Never the only Mara morning. Send company, group size and dates to sales@serengetiexperience.com or use https://www.serengetiexperience.com/rfp — we confirm permits, vehicles and the operations annex on the proposal.
