Should I use a DMC or incentive travel agency?

A corporate travel agent or corporate event manager should not choose ‘DMC or incentive agency’ as if they were the same job. An incentive travel house (or in-house incentive team) owns the client relationship, qualification rules, communications, often group air, and the brand of the reward. A destination management company owns the destination: programme sequence on the ground, lodge and venue contracting, internal flights, guides, park and gorilla permits, meet-and-greet, visa/eTA matrices, medevac, and rewriting Tuesday when an airstrip or boat fails.

Serengeti Experience DMC is the ground partner. We regularly sit inside an incentive house’s or PCO’s run-of-show — clear communication, no territorial theatre. If you are a corporate booking a first East Africa President’s Club without an incentive agency, you can still brief us directly; you will still need someone to run the contest rules, tax advice in your jurisdiction, and guest communications. We will not pretend to be your HR or finance team.

Use an incentive agency without a local DMC only if you already operate this map every month and hold the inventory relationships yourself — most buyers do not. Use a DMC without an incentive house when the corporation already has the rules and the rooming list and needs ground truth. For a multi-country safari-then-island or gorilla-then-savanna programme, skipping the DMC is how WhatsApp vendors become your 02:00 desk.
