Interactive Swahili cooking masterclass

Hands-on Swahili cooking — spices, coconut, seafood — in a private kitchen or hotel school, then the group eats what they cooked. Market colour without the souvenir gauntlet.

How we run it

We brief the chef on corporate tone: this is a working incentive morning, not a tourist cook-along with a souvenir stall at the end. Stone Town heat is real; the market walk is 30–40 minutes, then the kitchen.

Park Hyatt and a handful of contracted houses can hold a closed group. Forty guests means two stations or two sittings. Dietary — halal, vegetarian, shellfish — is collected with the rooming list.

This sits well on a recovery day after safari, or as the Stone Town chapter before the coast hotel. We do not stack it with a full Prison Island afternoon unless the night count is honest.
