Turquoise Zanzibar water for a helmet deep-sea walk

Zanzibar · 2–3 hours including briefing

Zanzibar deep sea walk

A helmet walk on the seabed off the north or east coast — the photograph of walking underwater without being a diver. Briefed, weighted, and run in small waves, not as a queue on a pontoon.

How we run it

This is ocean walking with a supplied-air helmet, not scuba. Guests who will not put their face in the water can still do it if ears, sinuses and blood pressure allow. We collect that on the rooming list, not on the jetty.

Groups move in waves of six to eight. A 24-person incentive is a morning of rotations, not one underwater parade. We keep a skipper, a safety diver and a beach or boat alternative when the sea is wrong.

Pair it with a north-east or Nungwi hotel so the transfer is not half the product. We will not run a deep-sea walk the afternoon a group lands from the Serengeti.

What is included

  • Helmet, weights, briefing and a safety diver in the water
  • Waves of six to eight so the seabed is not a crowd
  • Beach or boat alternative when swell cancels the walk
  • Photo stills where the operator can deliver them without turning the morning into a content shoot

What we will not do

  • Ear, sinus and blood-pressure notes are collected before we book the slot.
  • Not a scuba qualification and not a night dive.
  • We will not put 40 people on one pontoon.

Planner questions

Who is Zanzibar deep sea walk for?

8–24 in waves; helmet-and-weight product, not a free dive

When should we run Zanzibar deep sea walk?

Best in settled seas outside the long rains. Wind and swell cancel the walk — we hold a boat or beach alternative. Lead time: 8–12 months as an incentive activity block; operator slots in peak months go early. Duration on the ground: 2–3 hours including briefing.

How do we add Zanzibar deep sea walk to a Zanzibar MICE programme?

A helmet walk on the seabed off the north or east coast — the photograph of walking underwater without being a diver. Briefed, weighted, and run in small waves, not as a queue on a pontoon. Send company, group size and dates to sales@serengetiexperience.com or use https://www.serengetiexperience.com/rfp — we confirm permits, vehicles and the operations annex on the proposal.
