Meetings · Tanzania

Yes. Arusha is Tanzania’s meetings town — Gran Meliá, Legendary Lodge, Arusha Coffee Lodge — then light aircraft to the Serengeti or crater rim. Moshi is the climb hub, not a 100-person plenary city.

Can we run corporate meetings in Tanzania?

Meeting groups land Kilimanjaro International and sleep in Arusha before any safari hop. Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti, Meliá Serengeti Lodge and Serengeti Explorer by Elewana can each sleep 150 on double occupancy. Four Seasons’ indoor meeting space is 253 m² (largest classroom 40, reception 50). Meliá and Explorer are the 80–120 meeting-room product. True large-scale conferences (exhibition, 200-plus plenary) still belong in Arusha or on the coast, where inventory runs to 300+ rooms.

Do not mix products quietly: climbers in Moshi, safari and meetings in Arusha. A crater descent on landing day from Europe or the Americas is how the first session is lost.

Constraints

What we will not do

  • A 100-person plenary in a six-tent Serengeti camp.
  • A crater morning on the day a transatlantic group lands at JRO.
  • Selling Moshi as the conference city.

Access

How groups arrive

Scheduled light aircraft (Air Excel, Regional Air, Coastal, Auric) and private Cessnas/King Airs link Arusha to Seronera, Kogatende, Grumeti, Manyara and Zanzibar. We pad 90 minutes at Arusha Airport and never stack more than one weather-sensitive hop on arrival day. Climb groups land JRO and transfer to Moshi — Machame, Marangu and Londorossi (Lemosho/Northern Circuit) gates are road mornings from the hotel, not a same-day inbound.

JRO

Kilimanjaro International

Primary international gateway for northern safari groups and Kilimanjaro climbs — about 40–45 min to Moshi, 50–60 min to Arusha

DAR

Julius Nyerere International, Dar es Salaam

Commercial capital; useful for south/coast combinations

ARK

Arusha Airport

Domestic safari charters and scheduled hops to Serengeti airstrips

ZNZ

Abeid Amani Karume, Zanzibar

Beach finale — treat as its own destination page

Questions planners ask about meetings in Tanzania

Can we run a corporate meeting in the Serengeti?

Yes. Most Kenya and Tanzania bush lodges sleep 150 on double occupancy (75 single) — Four Seasons Serengeti, Meliá Serengeti and Serengeti Explorer among them. Meeting rooms are typically 80–120, with an honest wifi note. A three-day slide-heavy agenda or 200-delegate plenary belongs in Arusha.

Arusha or Moshi for a Tanzania meeting?

Arusha. Moshi is closer to JRO and to Kilimanjaro gates. A 100-person plenary still belongs in Arusha.

Can we meet in Arusha then fly to Zanzibar?

Yes. Hold the working session first, then the coast. Do not gala the night of the safari-to-island hop.

Do we need yellow fever certificates for Tanzania?

Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda and Zanzibar require a yellow fever vaccination certificate upon arrival. We collect it with passports on the rooming list — do not leave it to the airport queue.

Do guests need Zanzibar inbound travel insurance if the programme includes the island?

Zanzibar requires all non-resident foreign visitors to purchase mandatory inbound travel insurance issued exclusively by the Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC). Buy it online before travel at https://inbound.visitzanzibar.go.tz/
